Samuel was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal on 19th Nov 1917 as explained in the Gazette of 5th Feb 1918:-

William H survived and is named on the Macclesfield Christ Church school panel.
Frank, a teacher at Bunbury, volunteered in 1915 and was discharged on medical grounds in 1917. He died in 1929 aged 41 before he could take up the headmaster’s post he had gained.
Fred, 7268, was an early victim. On 11th November 1914 he was reported to be seriously ill in a Sheffield hospital.
